Meyering Insurance Agency, Inc. was founded in 1948 by John Meyering of Holland, Michigan. Mr. Meyering started our business by writing simple fire and wind insurance policies to the farmers of Ottawa and Allegan counties. After several successful years, while operating out of his own farm house, he expanded his products to include home and auto insurance. In 1961 John’s nephew, Robert Jansen, took over the family run operation and moved the office a few miles away to Hamilton, Michigan, where we still operate a branch office today. Over the next forty years Bob and his partners, Jack TenCate, and Dennis Kempkers, broadened the operations of the agency to include all lines of Personal, Commercial, Farm, Life, and Health insurance products.

Since 1948 our business has evolved from that office out of a farm house, to an operation with multiple offices. But some things have remained unchanged, such as the fundamentals that started our business — honest, professional, and personalized service. Over the span of the last decade the retirements of Bob, Jack, and Denny hinged on our office remaining locally owned, and operated as a “family” business.

Today we are proud to represent some of the most respected insurance carriers in the industry. But more importantly we have been blessed to be represented by such a professional, friendly, and experienced office staff. Together we work one on one with our customers to ensure the highest quality personalized service in the industry.
